State taxes are getting nuts.

I just read about how 5 States have found a new and improved way to rake its citizens over the coals.

Texas, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Virgina have enacted new "driver laws" that charge the offender a yearly tax for traffic offenses.

Michigan is so fucked. They are levying taxes on people instead of businesses, when the businesses are continuing to cut pay and lay off workers. Its one of the main reasons I was happy to leave.

This is a perfect tax in that it is 100% avoidable. Of course, if one is against taxes in all forms, then the argument is moot =)

Well...as for the DUI thing...I'm all for tattooing "stupid drunk" on their forehead and making it legal to spit on them in public ( ... )

I see a sudden rise in a lot of these cases involving lawyers and other parties...
