Independent!Justin rocks so much. I really like this story. I like how Brian and Justin have this laid back thing, but you can still feel the canon pull they had towards each other. I like that Justin isn't backing down, but I am so worried for him. What a great update to this story. I think my favorite part is the fact that it is a Justin story, with Brian peppered in to add spice, and not take it over. I can't wait for more.

I missed commenting about the last chapter, but it was fantastic as well.

I love independent!Justin, myself, and he's definitely found himself in a position where he no longer has any choice but to be independent.

If Justin wasn't Luke's primary caregiver, he'd definitely be following Brian around like he did in canon S1, but with less time on his hands he's been forced to assume this very casual, opportunistic relationship with Brian.

Brian will becomes slightly more prominent in the story later on, but this is indeed mostly a Justin story. I'm glad you like it that way!

This was simply awesome!!! Great how you handled the big confrontation in your story and I love that core of steel in Justin :)
And thanks so much for updating today already, I could kiss you for it ;)

Thanks! I'm glad that you liked the confrontation--I mixed in a few lines from S1, but overall, it was my own creation.

Justin's got that steel core going for him, but unfortunately, he's also got a lot to deal with now that he's set himself apart from the family. Don't want to give anything away, but he's about to take some pretty drastic action.

Thanks for reading and commenting! Look for the next chapter on Wednesday. It's action-packed, to say the least.

My heart aches for Justin. I can't imagine having to live with a father like Craig. Justin needs to get out soon.

I don't want to give too much away, but when Justin said that he wasn't a part of the family anymore? He meant it. Action will be taken next chapter... as you'll see on Wednesday!

I so hate them all!! poor Justin living with people like dad,I'm so proud of him, he is 17 years old and so brave but now... where is he going? to Daphne's? to Luke's grandfather (because no one lives there) 'cause to Brian's... I don't think so

I'm loving this so much! I seriously prefer your 1º season Justin than Cowlip's ;) theirs was too bratty for me :S

Where Justin goes next remains to be seen, but believe me when I say that he's done with his parents. That argument was the last straw for him.

This Justin is still a bit bratty and starry-eyed, but he's a bit more mature than canon Justin. This Justin has been through more, and as a result he's a little more mature, and a little less idealistic. We'll definitely see him maturing even more as the story goes on.
