amazing! I don't know why but I knew this was the end, It's really sad but at the same time this had to happen, it feels right to end a QaF fic like this although I gonna ignore the last 4 sentences the next time I reread it like I ignore the 5x13 LOL

Brilliant story from a brilliant writer ;)

thank you!!

Thank you! Feel free to ignore those last four sentences the next time you read, for sure--it's enough for me that you read them once, and the point was made. Thank you so much for all of your feedback, for being here chapter after chapter to give your thoughts. I appreciate it more than I can say.

Thank you so, so much!

Outstanding story! Now I'm hoping that the ending was not the same as what transpired in the show. Brian was just calling Justin to remind him to come to the loft after the after-prom activities. No Chris Hobbs in attendance!

Thank you! We'll never know what really happened, but I'm sure you can envision a hundred possibilities. Let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best, yeah?

Thanks so much for all of your comments and feedback--they never fail to make my day!

I have loved this story so mush.
And I choose to believe that Brian shouted for Justin to tell him that he will be waiting at deb's for him, rather then get his head beaten with a baseball bat. I mean somewhere there has to be a end to all the bad things that happened to Justin in the last couple of months.
Amazing story! Thank you :D

The thing is, so many things have changed in this 'verse that we don't know that it is Brian shouting to warn Justin about Hobbs. The point is that you don't know, that things could be beautiful or terrifying in your very next breath and you just don't know because life isn't something that can be fixed or solved or overcome.

Thank you so much for your continued support and feedback. I've loved hearing your thoughts on this story from the very beginning, and I'm pleased to have brought you to the end of our journey together. Happy reading!

It's a cruel ending, yes, but it makes my point--the point of the entire story--very well. If you want, though, you can ignore it and let the story end at chapter seventeen. *g*

Thank you so much, for all of your comments!

Wow, great story. And great ending. Any scenario I think of is powerful. Brian could have just be calling out to Justin to make some snarky remark to cover up all the sentimental shit they just experienced, or to tell him to come by the loft later... Or he could have called out to warn him that Hobbs was behind him with a bat. The bashing could have happened, and Brian, having signed all those legal papers, was now Luke's legal guardian while Justin was healing...or, *shudders at the thought* if Justin died from the bashing.

So many possible, powerful endings. Love when a story ends this way and gives me the freedom to come to my own conclusions.

Thanks for posting this
Gina

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you liked the ending--you're in a minority there, for sure! I love open, messy endings as well (obviously).

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to leave feedback!
