Wow! What a wonderful, lengthy comment!

I absolutely adore writing immortal!Ianto/mortal!Jack. Seriously. Their dynamic is just excellent and I love it to little bitty pieces.

Gwen and Tosh are very subtly different, and I think that we'll see those differences more as time goes on, especially if things carry on like this (which they might not). As for Owen--I really don't see him and Ianto getting along. Not in canon and not in this 'verse. I think he's always going to get along a lot better with Jack, honestly. So, yes, in this 'verse, Owen respects Ianto more, but with that respect also comes a whole lot more vitriol. Plus, as you said, extreme circumstances.

This probably isn't Jack's first time ever killed humans--because let's face it, Torchwood 1 probably had him kill at least one in his five years working there--but it's certainly the most he's ever killed, and also the first time he's ever lost control like that in the field. And yes, it must be deeply unsettling. I didn't have time to deal with it in the next story, ( ... )
