I think one of the biggest things that irk me is how a lot of people overshadow Shiki's entire character and personality for having THE MOTHERFUCKING EYES OF DEATH. That's pretty much the reason why he's so popular. Sure, it's very amusing to pit Shiki against so-so, but... Honestly? Shiki is not that kind of guy who would actually spam his eyes around to begin with. Also his Nanaya personality is awesome, but I think T. Shiki is more relatable as a character? He's strongly against killing unless the situation really called for it.
And let's not forget the gland. You might as well say that all harem leads have glands. It's funny, yeah. But we all know that it's a quick way of saying that "Shiki is a nice guy with a side of jerk and bitches love nice guys with sides of jerk."
