>>Usually it involved a lengthy extension, a medley of prescription drugs, and an all-nighter culminating in a meltdown beside the library printer, and finally an Olympic dash across campus to submit the still-warm pages, laden with typos my bleary eyes had missed.
that sounds a lot like my attempts to write papers at bryn mawr. maybe I should have tried for a different outcome than letting my dean corner me into a psychological leave that I eventually didn't care to come back from.
I know I probably should have just rolled with it better, but it's easy to say that now. anyway, I admire you for letting your passion pull you through to graduation, and I'm sure your final gpa was better than mine ever was.
also, my aunt got a dissertation at upenn in anthro with similar paper writing habits to both of us. so if you want to go to grad school, I'm sure it would work out. if you don't think the stress is worth it, though, that's another story (and you might well be right).
