it's about time.

i think i'm starting to feel this patriotic thing that i keep hearing about.
i thought it was something that old folks felt,
like angina, or the impending rain in one's "bum knee"....

this is nicer, though. i'm proud of us.

Seriously. I was PROUD of America tonight. I have never really felt that way before.

And I am also proud of Indiana today. We busted our asses getting people out to vote, and they did, and they did us proud.

xxxxoooo YES WE DID!

That's it exactly. I've followed this presidential race closely, but barely even dared to hope after the disappointments of my entire voting career to now. Once it was in, clear and decisive I suddenly realized how much it meant to me, how proud I am that we did this and how I truly believe we voted in a man who wants to restore greatness to this country, and that I want that greatness.

It's nice to know the cynicism and apathy that came with the last 8 years wasn't a permanent symptom, merely a side effect. This whole hope for the future, belief in our leaders, pride of country thing is pretty neat. Glad it didn't take until I was 80 to get it, bum knees totally hinder most displays of jubilation.

i feel the same way. i've never actually felt happy about politics or a race of any sort, but last night was surreal. i think i felt what some might call hope.
