Again the same HD that was causing trouble before is at it again. Cannot boot, cannot access from other computers. Thanks Pakman for providing assistance thus far. At time of writing, I was able to get into the partition of the HD that was used purely for storage after getting into it with Bart PE and using CHKDSK, however the same did not work ( Read more... )

I forget, was that HDD under warranty still? It's definitely RMA time if so.

I don't have much non-work experience with dead hard drives (and the work solution was to just pull off as much data as possible with Ghost then wipe it), as none of my drives here have failed as of yet (*knocks on wood*), so Pakman probably has more ideas than I do.

Yeah, so I guess at least you were able to get to your data with the Bart CD eh? Yeah, all that I can recommend at this point is once you backup all your data, DL the diagnostic disk from the HD manufacturers website, do a full scan and RMA it. There's not much else u can do with a bad HD.
