You know, I once read a book where it said, as a joke, that anyone could run for president; so long as they were white, male, in at least their fifties, were crazy rich, and had strong corporate ties. I read that and I nodded to myself; we're a pretty conservative society, so I didn't see the status quo being shaken up any time soon

I'm too jaded by politics in general these days to buy into messages of hope and change (which is why I went for the safer choice of McCain). But I think it'll be a good presidency. I have a feeling about it. Right now the country seems to be sincere and if words turn into action when the signs are all put away, we may actually make some progress in mending.

Americans need to come together again in the common cause of caring about one another. That's what makes us a great nation. And if Obama can inspire that, he'll have my support.
