I've developed my first true recalcitrant prejudice. You tend to collect them as you get older. I wonder what wonders await me in my middle years

While working at Home Depot I frequently saw people skipping their lunch breaks and working 10-12 days in a row. They'd complain about it to each other but not to the management. I raised hell with the management when they tried to do this to me however, and made sure to call in if they put me working more than 5 days in a row. I got criticized for it and they basically gave me the whole 'it's a whole lot worse in China/Mexico/Africa etc.'

Well, we're not in China/Mexico/Africa are we? And why shouldn't I expect better?

So yea, I quit. Too much pride.

Yeah, the idiocy of that attitude is beyond my ability to adequately address with prose. They're just saying whatever the fuck their parents told them at the dinner table and trying pretend to be adults with it.
