summary: drabble. Sasuke is slowly forgetting.
Sometimes days, even weeks, will pass, in which Sasuke doesn’t think of Itachi.
It doesn’t matter even when he does remember, because as he is bombarded daily with distractions, new thoughts replace old ones, Itachi becomes just a faded portrait of distant dislike.
Naruto and Sakura talk to him almost normally now, conversations becoming accustomed to avoiding the landmines. They never talk to him about the war: Orochimaru’s name is not heard, and they pretend he never left for the Sound.
Sasuke doesn’t mind. Forgetting is easier than forgiving after all, and no one knows that better than he does.
