Guh! Firefox is suddenly lagging horribly for me! I can't make it stop. :( I've restarted FireFox AND my computer, and it still lags. Every 30 seconds or so, everything kinda freezes up and takes about 15 to get caught up. It's annoying as fuck. I've tried closing a few tabs, as I do have a LOT of them open, and I've tried closing some other ( Read more... )

Do you have the NoScript add-in?

Try removing that, or updating it.
(A few others have mentioned a problem with that add-in on the latest edition of FF)

Don't have that one. Not sure what it's even for.

Noscript is something that should be in FF from the first install. It keeps scripts (like javascript) from running unless you specifically say too. Major advancement in security.

I'd recommend it highly

Start disabling add-ons/extensions. :) Starting with any GreaseMonkey scripts you may have installed. Disable the GM ones. If that doesn't work, disable an ext, restart, disable, restart (firefox, not comp), and so on until it stops. The last one you disabled is your problem. Update it, or remove it.

I've just re-installed one of our office machines, and I'm finding FF is freezing for 1 - 2 seconds everytime I do something. I'm suspecting either add-ons, or the program itself. So I'm reinstalling FF with no add-ons, and will get back with you tomarrow on the verdict

No doubt about it. A factory fresh install, with all plug-ins turned off, has no freezeups. So it's either a plugin, or add-on. Not sure which. But I'll work on it, and post in my LJ as soon as I know.
