Because you're a self-obsessed wanker who thinks that every last detail of your life is just as fantastically interesting to everyone else, as it is to you, and you self-righteously think every detail should be published or on show in a museum for all to marvel and ponder over forevermore.

Clueless self-obsession. These people are made of pure ego.

There isn't a single thought for another breath of life on the planet, that enters through these peoples heads.
When they go to parties all they talk about is them, when they're out to lunch with work colleagues it's all about them, when they're sitting around at Christmas with family - once again, you have to look at them, notice them, pay attention to them. Going to Mardi Gras and exposing their kid without rubbing two brains cells together - THEM!

ME ME ME I I I NOW NOW NOW. LOOK AT ME! AREN'T I FRIGGIN' AWESOME.

ugh.. how draining..

I agree with much of this. I'm single and childless, but I like children. I only want to see and hear the pleasant happy stuff, and I don't mind if a parent says "I'm annoyed today because my kid was being a bit difficult." But so many of them seem to think that the unpleasant side of having a child is uproariously funny. Sure, it's good coping method for them but why does everyone else have to be subjected to it? The child definitely doesn't deserve to be humiliated like that either. After all, the precious parents can normally sue someone if their images or videos were used without permission, so children should have every right to veto the use of theirs.
