(I name my macs after plants.. so far there has been Ivy, Dandelion and Snapdragon. :) If I had a new black one, I'd name it Nightshade. :) )

I almost went with the 200G drive on mine, but ultimately decided I'd forgo the extra 40G of space to stick with a SATA drive.

As for names... oi. I named mine turing but I somehow suspect you have different criteria :)

All our computers are named after Egyptian Pharohs ie Khafre, Tut, Snefuru and Hatshepsut. So not exactly hip:) I'd say pick something near and dear to your heart and find reference from there.

I've always named my major hand held device of the moment "Mother Box" (A fabulous Noprize to anyone who gets the reference).

My home machines are a mix of names. Stitch (Sabrina named that one), Jandari (Diana's machine), My laptop is named Forbin, and the router is named Guardian. I'm sure a new machine will get named Colossus (another Noprize for getting those last three references). Oh, the I've named all the harddrives, Formulhut, Harmony and such.. names of planets and planetary systems.

I think you should pick some cool ship or computer name from a favorite bit of anime or cartoon series.

Okay, time to geek out:

Mother Box is what Scott Free, aka Mister Miracle, uses to create Boom Tubes and other electronic wizardry.

Doctor Forbin is the creator of the giant computer, Colossus in the movie Colossus: The Forbin project. Guardian is the Russian counterpart of Colossus in the movie.

I'd love to call my computer TARDIS or OMNI but none of those fit. :/
