Test-Drove BMWs

Jul 08, 2007 17:23

Today Maria and I went out to John Holtz BMW and participated in the Ultimate Drive for the cure (for breast cancer). We took out a 535xi Sports Wagon and a Z4 3.0i Roadster. Unfortunately, both were automatics, but it was fun to play with the DSG that the roadster had (I was too excited by the iDrive in the wagon to notice).

I know that you are right. I guess that if I practiced in one enough, I could get the timing right to get the RPMs up in a turn...

I like that the manuals are harder to steal. :)

the tricky thing for me with getting used to the dsg is that in single gear shifts it was *faster* than me, two gears tends to be .5-.6"s of a second so a little slower.

when i'm not commuting i put my dsg over into "manual" and turn off traction control. fun times, hard gas and a drop into 2nd can get it a little loose.
