My next project...

So, I'm back in Minnesota after clearing out of the dorm. The apartment has gotten nicer in the months since I've been. We have TVs in every room (except the bathrooms, since that would be redundant) and I officially have a bed to sleep on, albeit one geared towards the tastes of a girl half my age. I went to a graduation party, which was really ( Read more... )

I bet highlander would kick ass, but I've never even seen the original... but dude! Mortal Kombat! Dude, that would be awesome.

Glad your place is shaping up. My house still looks EXACTLY the same as when you probably last stepped foot in it. And that's pretty cool, about the world market. I need to go to one of those things some time and see if I can pick up some pretty trinkets. :)

Your vision of the future sounds absolutely wonderful. I bet it'll be a wonderful life full of romance and intrigue, only made that much more mysterious and romantic by the setting. :) Only the best for my Brits, of course!

Well, I looked stuff up, and the script team behind Iron Man is working on a reboot of Highlander, so I'll let that alone.

People have been expressing excitement over the idea of a Mortal Kombat redux though. If I were to work on that, would you like me to base it off of the first game, like the original movie did? I think that would be the best place to start personally. Also, I need to make the Scorpion and Sub-Zero feud a part of the script. And the soundtrack... gah!

Ooooh, the soundtrack WOULD be tricksy. And yeah, generally reboots go back to square one, to reacclimatize the fans and offer a launching point for new fans. Like an origin story. :) After that it can go pretty much anywhere.

Didn't know the Iron Man team is doing Highlander... sounds it'll be pretty good. You excited?

I am excited. Though there is a tendency to screw up perfectly good scripts in production and even post-production, so I'm trying not to get too attached yet. I think a Reboot was a good idea with that franchise. The original was very good, and I wholly recommend checking it out, but the sequels were pretty terrible. Starting fresh with the great concept the series has could really make something cool.

Actually, a Reboot of Mortal Kombat is probably what it needs more than a remake, as well.
