Absolutely fantastic piece of fic. I really liked that Mary was the one that got John the Impala. It makes it that much more meaningful that Dean is so obsessive and loving of that car. Loved that John thought his 'surprise' involved getting naked and Mary just smirking at that and leading him outside to the real surprise. And then the end with Dean about to come into the world on the exact same day the Impala is finished. Awesome. It's like they were destined for each other. Really lovely story!

Thanks so much! I love to delve into John and Mary's early relationship. I want to, at the risk of sounding totally cheesy, explore their love for one another. And I thought this was something Mary would do.

Dean and the Impala go hand in hand. He adores that car and I think part of that adoration has to do with the Impala's past.

I can't tell you how much I love that Mary is the one who bought the car for John to fix up, or that Dean got his first ride in the Impala, the first ride in the Impala ever, on the day he was born. Now that is what I call a story.

I kinda feel like any woman who could be an equal to John would have to be pretty awesome. I think of Mary as a female version of Dean. I wish we'd gotten to know her better.
