Okay, so I accept the way they did the episode with Beaver (ahem, CASSIDY) being the killer. It made sense enough to me, and I was pretty surprised, because I refused to believe it could be him before, even though I knew lots of people thought it would be him.
I think the reason there is so much division over whether this was a good way to end it is that too many people fell in love with Kyle Gallner's portrayal of this sweet, loveable, dorky, adorable guy. And then, in one fell swoop, that guy is ripped away and gone forever, in one of the most heinous ways possible. I mean, for big fans of this show, it's just so sad and hard to deal with. You grow to love this guy, and then, well, he's just so EVIL. And then so DEAD.
BUT, the thing is, since I do believe it's possible that Cassidy could have been behind it all, I guess I can just put myself in the characters' place and understand better how hard this would be to actually deal with. Especially for poor Mac. And even Dick. I would think he'd have some serious issues with wondering if if only he had treated Beaver differently, all of this could have been prevented. I'm guessing Dick will be the same character next season, because that is the character people want to see, but realistically, I would think someone who had this happen with a sibling would be pretty changed by it.
Anyway, I guess Logan and Dick have more in common now. Both have a family member that committed suicide, and Dick's dad ran away, while Logan's dad is dead. And well, Dick's mom is absentee, as is Logan's sister.
You know, if Keith had really died (which, boy am I glad he didn't), Veronica, Logan, and Dick could have formed there own Little Orphan Annie club of sorts I figure.
And now you know I'm just too tired to be writing this. :)
Overall, though, I LOVED THIS EPISODE. Just wanted to make that clear. Oh, and of course the best thing about the ep for me was all the incredibly awesome L/V stuff. I mean, wowee wow wow. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE.
Oh, and at the end, when Kendall says, "Did he pin his pin on, or was he too shy?" I adored that, because it's a shoutout to "Bye Bye Birdie", which ROCKS MY SOCKS. I was even just singing a song from it like yesterday. I mean, what other show would do a shoutout to that musical?! Huh?! I just heart this show in such a huuuuuge way.
