have to disagree with you. I have a fantasy where I go back to high school and say, "yeah, so after college I decided that grad school is overrated. I moved to Ireland, got together with an irishman, convinced him to get braces, and then married him. We have five children, and we herd sheep together. Therefore, I also have a pet collie to help with the herding of the sheep. If one of my kids ever falls down a well, I know I'm good because of the collie. Life is sweet." Mrs. Moriarty shakes her head in bewilderment. Mrs. Kellner asks me to bring her back a nice sweater the next time I come home.

Relax, sweetie, you're going to have an amazing life. You don't have to live it all right now. That wouldn't be any fun, now, would it? Not that I'm a sage. I do stupid things. But ulcers don't usually make people happy, so don't get one. Love and miss u, see u soon!

You're not loony, meg. All of us that pulled this "I have to be top in my class with straight As and a 4-point-something gpa" all through grammar and high school did so for a reason. We all want to be the best that we can be, whether in the eyes of someone else or in our own opinions of ourselves. We know that we're good, and we want to be better ( ... )
