An update, finally!

Jun 14, 2006 19:30

I decided I should take a break from my CSI-watching to update, since I haven't in a long time. School ended mid-May, which is really, really strange. I'm so used to being on the quarter system that this whole semester thing throws me off. I'm working 8-5 (ouch!) at the LA Public Defender and absolutely loving it! I'm working at PIAS, which is the ( Read more... )

Hey Bev,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you - work sucks! :) We haven't registered yet, we're leaving that till closer to the wedding. So Northeastern is on the quarter system? How are you enjoying law school? I am loving it (apart from all the work, of course) :)

So Andrew and I are mid-move right now and I was going through a box of old stuff - reeeeeeeeally old stuff - and found photos of us in 3rd grade - gosh we were adorable! ;o) Just thought I'd pop you a note and say hi and that I'm glad we're still keeping in some sort of touch. I totally understand about keeping your wedding small - that will be a challenge for myself and Andrew too with my ginormous family and all the friends we want to be there with us. Please at least send me your mailing address and where you two are registered so we can send you some wedding greetings. I hope all is well and you'd better bet I'll have some do's and don'ts questions about wedding planning in the near future.... take care and good luck with it all!

I bet those pictures are adorable! I was house-sitting for my parents a while back, and I started to go through some old stuff, but I would sit for so long just looking at my parents marriage licenses and birth certificates that I didn't get anywhere NEAR 3rd grade :) We should get together sometime and go through all our old pictures, I'm sure we could find some great ones. So you are moving up to Newport and in with Andrew, right? That's so awesome - there is nothing like living together, even though James is totally unable to ever put dishes in the dishwasher! The whole wedding thing has frustrated me a lot - from the money, to the limit in who we can invite, more than once I have thought about just eloping, but then I see how much our parents are looking forward to it...so we are just treating it like a family thing, with a couple of friends there, too (all our family is coming from Scotland and England, so that takes up 90% of the people!). My mum is very much doing the "we are paying, so we get to do the inviting" so I am just ( ... )

Hey Mhairi - I would love to get together with you soon - we need to just sit and chat - and you can catch me up on the horrors of wedding planning and properly prepare me for it all! Our parents said they'd do the wedding costs too - and I have a huge amount of family members that are at the top of the list with Andrew's family - we want so badly to have a ton of friends there too, but the costs are going to be insane! (maybe we'll just serve cheese and crackers... hehe) I just started jotting down really immediate family members - like parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins for the two of us - and quickly hit 100 - not counting extended family and, oh yeah, friends! That's another crazy adventure we'll embark on after the moving in adventure that takes place this Friday - I'm a neat freak and he's a self-admitted slob, so we'll see how it goes! So yeah, I'll be in San Diego until the 7th, but back and forth a ton - so let me know when you're in town and we'll put something on the calendar - even if it's a ( ... )
