New manga and a new pen to art with. I bought one of those old school metal nib pens (I'm so lame, I don't know the technical term for it) fountain pens (thank you Max!) and it works like a dream. Too bad school scanner looks and works like it's 20 years old

Thank you! This picture was originally going to be just of the Major, wounded and lighting a cigarette. But then, the Earl got caught in there, and one thing led to another... X3

I'm glad you're doing well. Are you still avidly cosplaying? I've always been really impressed by your costumes!

I actually graduated this May, so I'm working in Japan with the JET program now. But I feel like I'm still in school because I'm still studying for the lvl 1 Japanese Proficiency exam and I'm around students all the time. I'm ready to graduate from studying in general... ^^;

This art is absolutely fabulous; I love your interpretation of the characters and the art. A lot of the Eroica fanart floating around sticks really closely to the original art and, while I don't have a problem with that, it's really refreshing to see someone draw the characters in their own style.
Plus this pose just makes me melt into a warm pile of wibble

You mentioned wanting pointed in the direction of some Eroicafic? Some of my favorites are Five Days in Padesca, Three Grades Thicker (It's a collection of shorts), By Any Other Name. Those are just collected from personal sites. Two archives of fic you should definitely check out are Belladonna's From Eroica With Love Page and, of course, Fried Potatoes

Sticking to Aoike-sensei's style is really hard to do. Before I started drawing for Eroica, I did a bunch of little studies (mainly on Dorian's hair and Klaus' guns) off the original manga. I think it gets more pronounced with the later volumes, but I cannot get over how large their chins are. Every time I draw Klaus (in my style), I always worry that his chin isn't big or manly enough. It's a weird complex to have... *sweat*

Thank you so much for the recs! Coincidentally, I'm in the middle of reading 'By Any Other Name' and enjoying it thoroughly. I'll definitely take a look at the other fics when I'm done. :D
