Definitely different, and not a pairing I would have thought of, but interesting, particulartly for Clara's speech about not telling someone you love them just because you're dying. It puts a different slant on Ianto's words to Jack in CoE (Although I hope Ianto meant what he said then and wasn't just saying what he thought Jack wanted to hear).

I think he definitely meant it - it's just that he only says such things under pressure. It's like a last-moment thing: "I won't see this person I love ever again because I'm dying, so it's now or never" and I do think he has a bit of a problem with that.
