Gym Time

Well, suffice it to say, I joined a gym... a couple of months ago. And with that very expensive membership came 5 free personal trainer sessions. Today was my first one (yes I was lazy and didn't schedule one until long after I got my membership). Oh (wo)man. I went for a run this morning and, ouch. Going from no exercise for months on end to a 20 min jog around the neighborhood (complete with hills) is probably not ideal. But it's kind of a cool way to start the day, aside from the stomach cramps and shin splints. Yay! Exercise is fun!

Personal Trainer: "Hi, how's it going? So yeah, I'm gonna be your personal trainer or something. So I want you to have this. I call it the workout stick. Basically it helps you keep in shape even if you can't get out and run or whatever. All you have to do is take the stick, sit in a comfortable chair, and then beat yourself with it until you're as sore as you would be from the actual exercising. It works great and it helps you burn calories. That's a win-win situation right there."
