The loss of an Australian Icon

Sep 04, 2006 15:34

Steve Irwin is dead

He was speared through the chest by a Sting ray barb while filming an underwater documentary.

He has two little kids.

He said "Crikey" to much.

He started Australia Zoo.

He helped the tourist industry.

He was one of the most optimistic people you could ever meet.

And now he's gone.

RIP.

~Claire =(

I know, I was sad when I found out. Watched him soooo much as a child. =( R.I.P. Croc Hunta! You will be sadly missed by millions of people throughout the world!

And the kids, geez, no daddy.

At least he left the world doing what he loved. Although I bet he loved playing with the crocodiles more than swimming with stingrays...

He was soo nice! =(

One of my friends knew him. And I met him, once. My sister even insulted him when she was little. @_@

It's just so hard to believe that he's gone.

He also worked for the conservation of Australian wildlife.

It's terrible that he's dead (I still can't quite believe it). =(

And it's even worse that people are making jokes about it.
