knitting question

for the gals that use the magic loop to knit - where did you learn?  not a single one of my books has anything on it and i am all over the web getting slightly different instructions in each place

i thought it would help me. i wanted to make this cute turtle and it starts with 2 sts in a round and then you keep increasing. it is impossible to keep 3 stitches on dpns they just unravel
