Mijn Schatje- a conclusion

May 31, 2009 18:33

I'm cutting this down because the wall of text was driving me up the wall. Everything I've said and linked to can be found HERE in a much shorter and sweeter list of links to images that Radiotrash and co have put together. I don't have the time to keep up with this whole thing and I'm sure everyone else that has read this journal is keeping up ( Read more... )

She actually denies knowing of the BJDs' existence at one point, but the blog post has since disappeared.

Hope you don't mind me linking this on DoA, I'm outraged by this :\

Yeah I don't mind if you link it to DoA. I think there's already a discussion about her happening over there. I'm kind of interested to see how many people support her because I know there are some users there that do believe that if you change it a little, it's ok to use, or if it's on the internet, you should expect for it to be taken.

Considering most doll companies put watermarks on their photos, I'd suspect they'd not want them taken and used for their own devices.

The people who say that kind of thing should see how it feels to get their photo stolen, or to have someone sell their art/photos for money. I know if any of my work got stolen, I'd be pissed.

It will be interesting to see how Bluefairy react since afaik they are very much against anyone using their company stock photos.

One art blog - Ektopia - has also already taken down their post on her as well, since they aren't interesting in 'art that's been ripped off; especially when the artist is being so deliberately dishonest'.

She can't even figure out how arms work...lol way to fail.

Are the companies planning to do anything about it?

Does she have a DA?

I don;t know if she has a dA, I do know she has a myspace, which I think is how this whole thing erupted, a doll owner stumbling over her myspace and saying, gee...that really looks like a such-and-such. Then someone else played with overlays and lo and behold...perfect tracing.

It pisses me off that she's compared to Mark Ryden. Because Mark Ryden is a real artist with real originality and real visions. He's been one of my most favorite artists for years and she's nothing compared to him.

I agree. Mark Ryden is one of my favourite artists too. I read the comparison mentioned somewhere in amongst her blog - someone had said it to her or about her - and her gloating about it. I couldn't help but latch onto it and try to break the link with the two, because his art has so much more depth, intrinsic beauty and meaning than hers ever will.

Didn't Pipos said they dealt with her before? Or did I misread that
I know they said she didn't have permission but I was a bit confused by if they'd dealt with her before or not.

Either way its crap.

I do vector art. I've traced stock art for practice. I've traced my own DOLLS for practice. I did it with live trace just to see if it was doable when she said that she didn't live trace. It is! And to alter it with some different blush or eye shadow after? Is very easy. It's sick.

this sucks- someone should do exactly the same 'art' of the dolls she did but significantly better than hers! she can't exactly complain...

I think what Pipos were getting at was that they'd seen her art homepage before? Not really sure cause things do get lost in translation, but yeah the important part - not giving her permission - is very clear.

I don't know how she can say it's not the same picture when the eye position even when the damned things are cross eyed is the same and the lip shading is exact.

There is only one over lay that didn't do it for me as HA PROOF!
Its the one with the swirl in the hair.
I mean sure it's close and all but there was too much changed. I saw that and kinda went "What the big f-ing deal?" But seeing the rest? Yeah. Exact.
Her reactions on face book are even more disturbing.
Saying that the doll makers appreciate her art and all that. Gag me.

Just to point out, from what she said: "One of the picture which was also posted is from Kallisti, which I have been in contact with too, and have been following her website for a long time now."

From Radiotrash's new site collecting the information (http://www.radiotrash.org/mijn/), private owner A @ blastmilk @ Kallisti... clearly states that she did not give her permission to do this.

Thanks for putting up your correspondence with her. I do feel rather annoyed though that she's trying to play the pity card now... I guess we'll wait and see what happens since some companies are considering legal action. I mean, perhaps some were owner pics from people she knew... but company pics? Same flaws, same faceup, even same eye colour? Hrmm.....

Thanks, it didn't click to me that Kallisti and Blastmilk were the one and same, so I've added that in :)
