At the risk of sounding stupid, the Ph.D. program is going to be HARD!!! I guess I presumed that it would merely be an extenstion of my masters, uh uh. the concept of trying to get thing published and/or going to conferences is terrifying. I don't want it on me, but it's going to be all over me. Or maybe the 9 hour acclimatation meeting thing ( Read more... )

Mia, I'm so glad you were able to stay on for another degree! I hate that the program is going to be so hard but I know you will do a wonderful job! Don't let the 9 hour intimidation attempt get you down. By the way, will you be around this weekend? I thought I'd get Stewart to come out and take a look at your printer.

Hey Friend,

You are not alone...all the folks at ASU, mostly me...are freaking out about all the pressure to publish and service and class and kissing ass...it is in fact terrifying. I have found a couple beers makes it slightly more amussing! I really hope all is well and you are enjoying your classes so far!
