Casting Lisa

We'd been talking about re-casting Aeorn, and three names came up for Lisa: Summer Glau, Bridget Reagan, and Olivia Wilde. See below the cut for thoughts and the (current) winner.

First up, Bridget Reagan (who comes highly recommended by Antilles, who has excellent aesthetic sense when it comes to women). Bridget Reagan has a slight advantage in that she's currently playing a bad-ass, powerful woman in a fantasy series (Kahlan Amnell in "Legend of the Seeker"), so finding pictures of her looking like Lisa, dressed plausibly, in appropriate settings and even situations are easy to find. For instance, I would have, at some point, a shot of Lisa that looked like this:

She's even got the possibly-drugged, scary, Lisa-is-gonna-fuck-you-up look down. I could absolutely imagine her looking like this on black lotus or after finding out that Etherani died:

I even managed to find two casual, almost candid pictures:

Though I have trouble imagining Lisa (or Kahlan, for that matter) in that bodice-thingy.
Unfortunately, she doesn't quite project the sense of youth that I think Lisa should. At the beginning of Aeorn, she's about the elf equivalent of 20. Despite the agelessness of the Dynasophers, I really think she needs to seem a little young. Also, Bridget Reagan doesn't look very elvish to me. Not enough cheekbones, I think, and too much bust.
She might make an excellent Ekaterin Vorsoisson, though...

Anyway, on the subject of youth, we have Summer Glau. Summer definitely looks young, while at the same time having a serious, haughty air that commands attention:

Also, because of her work on the action series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", there are plenty of pictures of her while wounded. Tell me Lisa never looked like this during one of the many fights where she ended up unconscious:

So Summer has the youth that I'm looking for, and a more elvish appearance than Bridgett (to my eye, anyway), but she might be *too* young-seeming. I have no doubt that she could play the role well, but she's not my first choice.

Olivia Wilde has had waaaaay more pictures taken of her than either Bridget Reagan or Summer Glau (at least, based on the results of a Google Image search), so maybe that's why I was able to find more pictures that felt like Lisa, though they're hard to find among the red-carpet shots of her smiling or the magazine photos of her giving the camera a smoldering look. Lisa... doesn't smile much unless she's playing someone (or drunk, or in love), and if she's giving you a smoldering look, it's probably because she's imagining you on fire. So, first up, Olivia at her elfiest:

Another elf-y one, probably because of the forest:

This one makes me think of Lady Alys Vorpatril's line "My dear, dresses are weapons." I shall shamelessly steal that line at some point and put it in Lisa's mouth. I don't actually like the dress that much and the color is wrong, but this picture makes me think of Lisa working the angles at a party:

This one definitely has the excitement, anticipation, and terror of her first arrival at the White Tower (in either timeline):

And lastly, this one just feels so much like Lisa to me:

I can't precisely explain it, but it makes me want to say "Hi, Lisa!" The way she's dressed makes me think of a graduate student at an Ivy League school, which is kinda what Lisa was/is, in calmer times. She looks intelligent, observant, and reserved. So, yeah, Olivia Wilde wins the part of Lisa, at least until someone better comes up.
Oh, and she apparently has no problem with kissing women on screen, so that's a plus ;-).
