Personal Ad, for review

Below is my new personal ad, for the consideration of anyone who would care to read it:

Letter of recommendation available upon request.

Hello, I'm Andrew, it's nice to meet you. Please bear with me for moment while I poke a little fun at myself.

I'm originally from Texas, coming to this strange land from an even stranger one in the desert. Fortunately, having been raised by hippies, I blend in well here on the East Coast - I don't have an accent, I don't drive a truck, my belt buckle is normal sized, and I lean mostly left of center. Fair warning though: from time to time I've been known to fall off a horse (dreadful beasts), and I have been spotted wearing a cowboy hat in public (special occasions and ancestral Texan holidays only, I promise).

As for nights out, I fail miserably at the whole club/party/bar thing. I'm much more of a "dinner and a movie" or "picnic in the park" kind of man. However, if you insist on me knocking over furniture and stepping on your feet, I do enjoy ballroom and swing dancing. Give me some fairly advanced warning, though, I'm pretty rusty and I'll need you to sign a waiver.

In addition to the usuals like "watching movies", "reading books", and "listening to music", I'm interested in all kinds of other offbeat things: gardening, cooking, riding on the metro, disassembling and re-purposing robot vacuum cleaners, etc. etc. The list is far too long (and possibly too incriminating) to print in full. Besides, something new always seems to be capturing my attention, ensuring any list I make will be out of sync twenty minutes from now.

My secret weakness is guinea pigs (I have two - Tater Tot and Ms. Fuzzbottom. Yes, I named them). I'm ever so slightly crazy about them, which explains how they've become such pampered and spoiled little ladies. I knew things were getting bad when I started to carry around pictures of them in my wallet.

In short: I'm kind of a screwball. But I'm a cuddly, dependable, and charming screwball, so hopefully that makes up for it.

Criticism, constructive or not, is welcome.
