Educated prediction: they'll downplay every single privacy issue and promise to respect students' privacy. Then they'll use the information for whatever they feel like, most likely to investigate the silliest offenses they can think of (Watching an R rated movie at school? Downloading MP3s while at home?).

There is only one answer to the question "how will we beat this evil machine?" Transfer out and stop shoveling them money. No one who would ask that question belongs at Harker (even they would agree with me on this). I very much regret staying there for four years. I had nothing to lose by leaving and a lot to gain.

I think they should get rid of the laptops altogether... all they use them for is note-taking. A huge waste of time and money, spiral notebooks cost 89c and start up immediately.
