Yoochun was snuggled up in the hanging bubble chair with a notepad in one hand and a pencil in the other. One ear was occupied by a headphone and an up-beat melody transmitted from the Mp3 player. He tapped the end of the pencil against his chin and his eyes stared up at the beautiful blue sky.

Unfortunately, not even the most beautiful scenery from the balcony of their home could spark inspiration for Yoochun.

“Jaejoong, are you baking? Should I be tying Changmin down?” Yunho’s voice came from inside the house.

Yoochun smiled lightly as he used one foot to turn the bubble chair around in order to look into the living room.

“Hyung, what is that supposed to mean?” Changmin frowned.

“It means you need to be tied down or all the cookies will disappear before they even leave the kitchen,” Jaejoong gladly explained.

“I’m not that bad!” Changmin exclaimed.

“You’re not that bad; you’re worst!” Junsu had walked out of his room to join them.

Yoochun smiled when he saw Junsu. It was so…natural for him to experience this…unexplainable feeling when Junsu was around.

“What are you baking anyway?” Changmin inquired.

“Gingerbread cookies! I found the recipe online and I thought I’d try it,” Jaejoong announced. “Anyone want to help?”

“I’ll only make a mess,” Junsu informed with an innocent smile.

“I only know how to eat,” Changmin replied.

Yunho rolled his eyes at the both of them. “I’ll help you, Jae.”

Jaejoong smiled lovingly at Yunho. “Okay!”

The both of them disappeared into the kitchen while Changmin plopped down onto the couch with a book. Junsu walked towards the balcony to join Yoochun.

“What are you doing, Yoochunnie?”

“Trying to compose a song for my solo,” Yoochun answered. Junsu pulled up a chair to sit in front of him and folded his legs up to curl into a cute ball.

“Really? What do you have so far?”

“Why bother to look? You won’t understand any of it.”

“Why not?”

“It’s in English.”

“Are you looking down on me? You think my English hasn’t improved? You’re the one who told me ‘Rudolph’ for ‘Deer’!”

“I’m not saying my English is amazing. I’m just saying it’s better than yours.”

“Let me see it!” Junsu demanded for the notepad.

“You won’t understand a word,” Yoochun teased.

Junsu made a childish mocking face before grabbing the notepad from Yoochun’s hands. He scanned the whole verse.

“I understand some of this!”

“What part?”

“Like this line, it says ‘I lub you’.”

Yoochun blinked when Junsu spoke those words. He’d heard it clearly, but he wanted to hear it again. “What is it?”

“‘I lub you,’” Junsu repeated.

Yoochun smiled happily. “It’s ‘I love you’.”

Junsu looked up from the notepad and at Yoochun. “Same thing.”

“You pronounced it wrong. Say it right.”

“‘I lub you.’”

“I ‘love’ you.”

“‘Lub you’.”

“‘Love’.”

“‘Love’.”

“Good, now say the whole thing.”

“‘I love you’.”

Yoochun grinned proudly as he patted Junsu on the head, letting his hand remain for a bit longer to play with Junsu’s hair. “Good job.”

Junsu whacked his hand away. He looked back at the notepad to see if he could read any other words. It felt too good to be showing Yoochun that he wasn’t English-illiterate.

Just then, their version of ‘Santa Clause Is Coming to Town’ was heard.

“Junsu, it’s your cell phone!” Yunho shouted from the kitchen. “Why is your cell phone in the kitchen anyway?”

“You probably thought it was yours and took it!” Jaejoong’s voice replied.

Yoochun and Junsu looked at each other and shared a laugh before Junsu stood up to run into the kitchen. Yoochun watched him leave and felt a bit of disappointment.

Changmin was still on the sofa reading…only he now had a bag of snacks with him. Where all the food came from and where it all went after entering Changmin’s mouth, Yoochun had no idea.

He looked down at his half written lyrics and sighed. No point in pushing himself to write when he had no inspiration.

Yoochun left the Mp3 player and the writing utensils inside the bubble chair and joined Changmin on the couch.

“What are you reading?”

“Harry Potter, want me to tell you about it?”

“It’s the third time you’re reading it, but it’ll be the tenth time you’re telling me about it. I’m sure I can Ace a quiz about it without even reading it,” Yoochun drawled.

“What is today, ‘pick on the youngest’ day?” Changmin protested.

Yoochun chuckled. “No one is capable of picking on you. I feel bad for those poor innocent fans who think otherwise.”

“It pays to be the normal one in the group.”

“‘Normal’?” Yoochun raised an eyebrow.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of clanking and shouting from the kitchen.

“You knocked the pan off the table!”

“You got flour all over the place!”

“Don’t you two dare have a dance competition in my kitchen!”

“He started it!”

“Did not!”

“Get out!”

“Aww, come on, I volunteered to help!”

“Fine, Junsu, go play with Changmin or Yoochun.”

“But I want to help now!”

“Go!”

Yoochun and Changmin watched as Junsu walked out with a pout on his lips. They broke into a giggle while Junsu glared.

“If you’re so bored then why don’t you go call Junho?” Changmin suggested.

Junsu’s face brightened. “Good idea!”

Yoochun wanted to wring Changmin’s neck for making the suggestion. When Junsu talked to Junho, he would hibernate in his and Changmin’s shared room for hours. And for those hours, Yoochun would not see Junsu.

“Wait…” Yoochun tried to stop him.

Too late. Junsu had run into the room and closed the doors.

Yoochun gave Changmin an evil look. Changmin innocently asked, “What? If you don’t like it then go tell him that you want him to spend time with you instead.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“It means what you want it to mean,” Changmin smartly replied before returning to the world of Harry Potter.

Yoochun ignored Changmin’s statement and allowed the T.V. to become a distraction.
