I need a new car... AGAIN :\

Well, sadly, the Mikey-mobile (my orange car) got totaled out. I'm not going to go into all the long convoluted details about the accident, but someone smashed into the passenger side of my car (thank GOD Jenn wasn't in the car, she would have been seriously hurt) and the damage is enough that State Farm decided to total out my car ( Read more... )

car, new car, about me, money, annoying

First of all, thank God you weren't hurt.
Second-- cars can be painted at a later date.
Third--well, don't have a third, having never sat in a Focus-- the ones I've seen look high to me-- don't suppose there's a used Prius around... anyway, good luck.

1- Yes, I thank God that Jenn has gotten me into the habit of always wearing my seatbelt.
2 - Cars that are painted at a later date always have issues though, if you repaint a car, it's almost less expensive to trade it in and buy a new car in the color you want.
3 - I just am not wanting to get a little sedan again. I feel soo much safer in a little bit taller car!

There IS a used prius around, but it's been in a major wreck and is prolly a problem looking for a place to happen :P

*hugs* I'm glad you weren't hurt, and that Jenn wasn't along. *hugs*

The only thing I would worry about is the sitting low to the ground; like Cynlee said, you can always have it repainted when you have the money, and likewise, radios can be replaced with systems that have AV jacks. Have you test driven it? Has Jenn rode in it? You could probably use a seat cushion to give yourself the feeling of sitting higher (and also the visibility); would that make it better?

I hate dealing with automotive crap as well. I'm really glad you weren't hurt and that Jenn wasn't in the car.

If the Focus fits the bill in most ways you should get it. Make sure that it's mechanically sound and then as you get a little money, change the paint and the radio.

The longer it runs, the better. Car payments suck, but then, so do repair bills.

Statistically speaking green and black cars are involved in more accidents than other colours. Apparently white or yellow are more likely to be seen by other drivers from a distance.

Glad Jenn wasn't in the car and that you are safe :)
