That familiar....

Havent been particularly sick since I took the jabs in S3 (yes, This means that the parents letter I submitted were, ...you get it). Or maybe it's because of the mosquitoes hanging around Dance Studio (I killed one and tadaa it's an ades(sp?) mosquito). I can practically smell the virus with these symptoms.

For the past year, I've been receiving Newsweek and Times almost simultaneously regularly. I hate to admit it but I havent read all of them, though I really enjoyed the articles which I read (beats Straits Times' anyday which explains ST's declining readership hah). When the Iraq War issue was blown up, I would be really interested and read all the articles associated with it, sometimes trying to cast my own judgement on whether the invasion was the right thing or whether pulling out at this time is wise, whether the families should be allowed to protest etc. Same with issues regarding worldwide famine, economies, poverty, global warming. Controversial, affects the global population, and more importantly, the stakes of our future generations- makes these issues interesting, dont they? But after a while, I became angry- angry at the greed, at the empty promises made, at the inefficiency, the redtape, the power-hungry, the idealists, the people who stay in the background manipulating, the suffering of people.... You change to another POV and think, stupid, you stand to gain, why bother, bother about it in your next lifetime, and maybe that's the best balance to be made between the welfare of one's own country/organisation and the side effects of its policies. That's why you know, to be a policy-maker was one of my casual ambition, a short-lived one, because I expect the same obstacles answering to the upstairs, though this time more powerful and dangeous (scheming) ones.
And why am I blabbing about this? :) I dont know haha okay shall make this a magazine entry.
The latest issue of National Geographic, November's, addresses the issue of Memory. To those who think this topic is boring, wait till you read the articles. Damn interesting, yo?
There's this person with the shortest memory ever. Read this: By the time EP, the subject, gets to the end of a newspaper headline, he's usually forgotten how it began. Talk to him about Bush, about the increase in real estate prices, about price inflation, he doesnt register them. He's literally living in the present, without a worry because he doesnt remember the past nor can he contemplate his future.
And this elderly lady whose memory is so superb, it can put you to shame. (heh, joking but the phrase flowed xD) She can remember exactly what she was doing say ten years back from today, November 18. (Y)
Then you talk about the implications and all. but that's not my point. Actually I dont even know what's my point.
