Don't you just hate it when you write yourself into a corner? Evolution makes the story better, thinking, challenging, finding solutions to problems you never know you had. It's how I invented a lot of cool stuff in the past and how the story goes into unexpected wonderful directions.

You don't even want to know the plot permutations and head-banging I've gone through with Into White. I had to LOL when you thought Stark popping up was improbable, even if he were in the neighborhood, since my original plan was for them to stumble upon Crais. Chapter 2 took a lifetime to get out because I realized the contrived folly of it all and had to scramble to come up with something better. Now I have a plot that I think is far superior and I am really pleased with it and have loved all my musings and wanderings and yet the mechanics are foiling me at every turn. I don't want to write technical, plot unfoldy bits! I just want to write angsty mood pieces where characters think about something that's already happened! I feel like I'm writing stage directions when I advance the action and worry it sounds stupid and "overthinking" is an understatement ( ... )

All of the elements came together in my mind, everything falling into place, like a perfect neat puzzle.
The only thing remaining is: I just have to write it.
