Good to see you back! Sounds like you've had a mix of the good and bad, but are coming out on top. Must take pics at Burning Man if you can! I've always wanted to go,but never have organized myself enough to plan on going. So who were the celebrities you had stay with you?

I'm usually a fan of Bendis but House of M has pretty much sucked so far... Bendis did an interview on www.comicbookresources.com yesterday where he finally admitted Jessica Jones was supposed to be Jessica Drew all along. Of course everyone with a brain has known this for years but he's always adamantly denied it left and right. Yesterday he broke down and admitted it proving that he'll lie through his teeth to the fans when he feels like it. To me he's now the GW Bush of comic books...

Well, I don't know if I'd go so far as to be calling him the GWB of anything,... but I understand your frustration. You know what though? I'm SOOOO... glad that Jessica Jones is NOT Jessica Drew. Even if her creation was a mistake, she's one of my favorite characters, and I love what Bendis has done with her along the way. Who cares what he would have liked to have done. Whatever forces intervened and kept this fate from Jessica Drew have my gratitude. I'm all for taking a long established character in a new direction, I hate it when an authore re-works a character's past, or ignores things that substantively defined a character in order to create something more in line with what they want to do ( ... )

Im loving the DC stuff right now too and I think Infinite Crisis is going to significantly change everything. House of M just seems like...smoke and mirrors. The "one year later" concept after Infinite Crisis just sounds like way too much fun to explore. I'm predicting a new Batman in the form of Jason Todd and a Lois/Clark marriage separation. Zatanna, the poor dear, is going to be sacrificed somewhere along the way and Power Girl taking a trip over to the Dark Side....

As far as Jessica Jones, I love that character more than any other at Marvel right now. "Alias" was an amazing book and even though I'm sorry it's over, and the Pulse just doesnt cut it for me out of the Max line, I love seeing her interact more with the rest of the MU and becoming something of a player...

My very first comic ever..and I do mean ever...was the first appearance of Spider Woman. I have it framed in my office. My affection for Jessica Drew has no bounds because of that...

It's nice to have you back here.

I understand the isolation thing. I can be guilty of it as well - got for long stretches not calling people, just nesting at home. I often use school as the excuse, but that was obviously not the case this summer. I sometimes look at myself and wonder why I can be so content to be so isolated. I figure a large part of it is just leftover from being a kid who had very few friends and spent most of his time alone - reading, doing puzzles and playing board games by himself. It just became part of me. Is that good or bad or neither? I dunno. Sometimes I feel guilty about it, and other times I'm ok with it.

We need to go have that coffee/lunch/dinner/drink soon - talk about HBP and more.

I sat there grieving when I finished page 596, and then through what happened afterwards. Almost in shock. "What's going to happen to US now that he's gone?" It was almost an afterthought that I said, "how could she (the author) do that? What was she thinking?"

The isolation thing has been weird for me this year. There's a certain amount of inertia involved that I haven't been able to overcome. Even when I'm around people, you may have noticed that I haven't had all that much to talk about, which is probably from the amount of time I've spent alone and on work, but which in turn, reinforces the comfort of spending time alone.

"Forgive me Live Journal for I have sinned,
It's been over a month since my last confession..."

You must do penance.

Get on your knees and do twenty Hail Gary's.
