It's been a while, so I thought I'd check in....

I've been on kind of a personal journey- back in the day, I would have journaled it, but now, the journal is the pulpit, so the cathartic rantings and anquished cries of confusion that once found themselves scribbled in pencil, only to have the pages then glued shut so that no one could read them.... those words no longer find their way onto ( Read more... )

Wow, what a beautiful thing: to discover that kind of relationships. What a blessing! Good for you. I've thought about burning man too and about going, but everyone told me that going on my own would be crazy. I'd love to know more about the practical details of burning man for the single traveler if you'd like to share some.

When are you coming back down?

Henry- it is a commitment, unless you go with a group (and then it's a shared commitment), but everyone that I meet there is eager to help each other, so if you forget something, or for that matter, if you just crave something while you are there that you didn't bring with you, chances are someone has it and will share :) I'd love to sit down with you and go on and on about how much fun it is and all of the possibilities that exist in Black Rock City... and if I talked until we both passed out, I wouldn't even scratch the surface of it.

I haven't got any plans at the moment to come back to San Diego, but I'm open to new adventures, so you never know. I was supposed to be there in July for Comic-Con, I even had 4 day passes for the convention, but I put off getting flights and hotel reservations until the last minute, and ended up not being able to go :(

.... You had Comic-con tickets and you didn't go.

Man, what kind of comic book geek are you?

Reading your story about Burning Man and hearing what Ed shared with me, makes me want to go even more! I think once school is done and I have the time, I need to get my butt out there and experience it firsthand.

"And of course, I fell hopelessly in love..." Isn't that what one does at Burning Man? ;-)
From what I heard, they sound pretty amazing - and of course, being from Brooklyn doesn't hurt!
