This is a potentially interesting topic. I challenge anyone else to write an essay on it.
Of course, Carlos is injured. His toe is injured. Because he was sliding into second. I'm really... not impressed. With second base, not him. Day-to-day, but not expected to be long term. Somewhere up there, someone is laughing at us. Really hard.
Point being, further, what did I ever do to my pitchers to make them get injured so often? All the important bits in interesting ways. I mean, sure, Remmy's was worst, but I don't like seeing my guys in any pain injuries suck. For the team. This is obviously their plot to set my nerves on end and get me off their backs. Because of all the new kids. Scared of the dark, honestly. Right.
Pitchers, clearly, travel in packs. If you pushed one off the cliff, the rest would follow. Not saying that there should be any cliffs, pushing, or following. Just a lot of sleep and healing. Healing is good, returning is better, buying me a drink for my emotional distress would just ice the cake.
D-Lee has been awesome, naturally. And Maddux, damn. He's my new favorite, all official. Of course, Maddux is everyone's favorite. Because. He's Maddux. And he's amazing. Guys are starting to back, and yeah, Mark can shave. And drink. And even lean, occasionally. Did I mention how proud I am of you, buddy?
On to new topics, since I don't want to say anything that would, you know. Be bad. We're in New York on the weekend, I've got plans. Kerry, if you want to babysit, you and Mark can duke it out. Or share, I'm sure that'd make Stephanie's Grace's life. And Jose said he'd be in town. And that I could clean up his place. And throw out some of his shoes.
Who, in the name of all that is good, needs over twenty pairs of shoes? They're... shoes. They're remarkably similar, from one pair to the next. I'm almost in awe.
That was a lot longer than I thought it would be. So. I'm going to do something else, for now. Figure out what I'm packing or something. So. 'Night, everyone. If you're not a Cubs fan yet, you should be. We're awesome.
