advice because you people need it

Aug 14, 2005 19:11

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Michael Tucker's Advice Column! Some of these letters seem to have come from my teammates but of course I can't reveal exactly WHO they are. In any case, I will give them the advice they need because I am a caring and giving person like that.

On with the advice! )

Dear Tuck,

I have a fellow ballplayer from the same division as me who has a love/hate relationship with me that borders on obsessive. The guy seems to try to call me out at the most ridiculous times and I've tried to shake it off, but he's just annoying me. My teammates think he has a crush on me, however. I think this traced back to high school but I can't recall...how should I confront this?

Sincerely,

Creeped Out AL East Pitcher

Dear Creeped Out,

You know, I never knew there were so many gay dudes in MLB until I got a LiveJournal. Anyway, I think you should just go to the guy and say, "Look buddy I'm not interested!" So if he really does have a crush on you he'll get the point, and if he doesn't he'll probably realize that his obsession with you appears to be a gay crush and he'll back off because God forbid people think he's gay!

Love,

Tuck

I'll keep it short and sweet (like my PH homerun stroke). How can I stay healthy and how can I get back in the leadoff role? It's hard to catch Rickey Henderson on the all-time leadoff homerun list when you're hitting 5th

Dear Sugarman,

You might as well just take it easy for the rest of the season. Don't put out any extraordinary effort that might get you hurt since we're out of it anyway. Take any days off you can. I don't know about getting back in the leadoff spot. You have to hope someone else shows the potential to occasionally deliver in RBI situations if they're going to move you back to the top of the order. It's doubtful that will happen.

Dear Unrequited Lover,

Just have a three-way and get it over with. Or maybe date women, that would be cool.

Love,

Tuck
