Marscon was a good time this weekend while I was there. I very much liked their AV room -- they had unique, different features -- including an actual film projector for one item instead of just DVDs

How should we address it? Ignoring the online drama part of this -- which I definitely want to do -- and I certainly don't want to pretend that I'm at all an expert on racial matters.
I want to find ways to make the community as welcoming and safe as possible. There's certainly the possibility of a massive fail there, but I want to do the right and correct thing.
I want to make things better. I can't make things perfect, but I'm interested in continual improvement.
b) I would like to do this as well, and we have mentioned it in our discussions on guests. I'm not satisfied with our track record on this in the past, and I'm extremely open and would especially encourage guest suggestions (especially with contact information) to help with that. Our networks need to be better here.
c) I'd be interested to see how you could implement this -- especially with at the door memberships. I'm certainly interested in figuring out something that we can get to work from a budget and logistical perspective -- we've had similar sorts of requests when it comes to teen memberships as well, and for teens that aren't coming in because their parents are already attendees.
Regarding MarsCon's A/V room - Tim and I have been in talks with Troy L. (who shows a lot of stuff at MarsCon and is well connected with the local film community) about heading up our A/V room this year (and even potentially doing some sort of MISFITS-sponsored film festival tie-in).
