Those who know the a-e, and have seen the a-e's apartment, know that he loves to read and collect. Off and on over the last bunch of years, he's been buying volumes of Punch, the British humour magazine founded in 1841 that went West for the first time in the early 90s, and had a brief and failed revival later. Heh. I would wonder how many copies have survived the 125+ years, or how big the circulation was. I believe the British Punch, by contrast, had a circulation of >100,000, large for the time. I believe other editions of Punch were published elsewhere in the English-speaking world, including India.
