I'm always struck by the level of violence the gathered sampling of prospective jurors always holds as victims, but also as the relatives of those convicted of committing such violence, also. I've, in the past, both in Brooklyn and Baltimore, been put on juries after identifying myself as a victim of violent assaults in the past, one that was clearly a hate crime in nature, though not then identified as such...
So far, I've not ended up assigned to a case, and I am hoping the rest of the day might leave me similarly unpicked, please!
