Calmer
I've been wanting to update here for awhile, and the arrival summer proper has definitely calmed my life in good ways... June has been a month of adjustments and a return to my own self-care, clarifying intentions, and reclaiming personal practices. -
End of the school year
Graduation today in the hot sun, though fortunately we moved to the morning time a year or two ago, but still - jacket and tie required (and hat for my bald head) with my female colleagues in basically flip flops, short skirts, and sleeveless blouses ( Read more... ) -
Books, books, and more books
Sadly, our local Daedalus books is closing, but that means a big sale right now! I was already reading 20 or so books at the same time. One has to when the reading includes Zizek, Sedgwick, and the easy reading is a 600 page memoir of collaborating with Cage and Cunningham ( Read more... ) -
Vacation(?)
A full week away from campus! But mostly, the last couple of days at least, this is because I've been fighting off some cold (hopefully nothing worse). The increase in temperature outdoors calls to me, but I've been home sick since yesterday. Hoping to be more on the mend as we go into the weekend!

First day away from school in ___________ days?
Today was the first day in weeks that I will not be heading into school for at least part of (or almost all of...) the day. Since winter break, I believe I've been on campus every day with the exception of the three snow days and ONE Saturday afternoon....
