This is where I say a band, and you tell me no. It's really your opinion that modern music is crap. I like a lot of "new music" - I'm really into The futureheads and Arcade Fire right now. Fleetwood Mac, oh yes!
I think it's testamont to the point i am making that the two bands that you have chosen to represent the supposed cream of the era, are indeed two bands which i haven't even heard of.
I enjoy Fleetwood Mac, I like the futureheads, download Hounds of Love, good song. Havnt heard of Arcade Fire, wel, hearsd of, not heard. Anywya, i love Greenday,...
Beck Radiohead The Mars Volta Cat Power Eels Kasabian Belle & Sebastian
All incredible musicians, if you ask me. Just because Greenday and Kaiser Chiefs are popular and you like them doesn't mean that there isn't good music out there. The Mars Vota, for example, are very much a love them or hate them band, but their talent is undeniable. Their drummer is probably the best since Led Zeppelin. Artists like Cat Power are also underrated. That woman has had such a haunted past, and she writes the most beautiful music based on many of her experiences.
POPULAR modern music is shite compared to the 70s and 80s, I agree, but to be fair - you really aren't looking in the right places.

However if we're speaking of music Michaels heard of, what about Franz, or the Libertines?
Both modern British bands.
