People's birthdays come and go. It's pathetic to see that I have no zest in me to celebrate it with them. I either fill up a card and send it over (or if it requires stamps, then it'd be hidden somewhere in the pencil case for years before being sent) and wish they know I still care for them even though I don't really celebrate with them
