On House of Flying Daggers
A friend of mine mentioned she hasn't watched House of... yet and since she liked Crouching Tiger... I told her to get the DVD like...now.
The movie pretty much had the same feel as Crouching...the bright costumes, breath-taking landscapes, unbelievable fight scenes and of course, for the ladies, the love triangle. Yes, the foolproof and timeworn tactic to create and sustain conflict and drama in a movie. Sigh.
I've got nothing to say that hasn't been said already so I'll just mention a couple of things. First, the highlight for me was the dance scene. I mean, okay, I admit I'm a bit envious here but can someone really make those moves? I know she had some assistance and they have had to break the scene into several but I was trying to look for the wires because not that I would want to and yes she is a fictional character and yes, she's trained in martial arts and no, I'm not competitive at all but I'll never be able to do even a fraction of those moves she made.
Oh c'mon now. No one can pose like below. It defies science.
I still wish I can do it though. Hehehe.
Is it just me or was she supposed to die like at least a good hour sooner than when she finally did at the end? Gawd.
And I don't know why but this movie reminds me of Shakespeare's A midsummer night's dream. Is it just me?
Oh, and my first Asian crush is this guy: Takeshi. Holy moly mother of...that scene when they did that close up on him I think I forgot my name. Can this guy be any cuter? Sh*t.
Look, he's bleeding in this pic and he still looks cute. *gulp*
Takeshi almost made me forget about my all-time crush who I will not mention here. *cough*
Well, almost.
