Breakfast at Mette's

Finally caught up with Mette this weekend. :) Found out about her new job and *insert other stuff here*. I love her and I love hanging out at her place. Mi casa es su casa right?. :D

Is it just me or is the weekend not long enough to catch up on reading the newspapers alone? Sometimes I feel like, do I really need to read this? Speaking of which, there's a piece on the UK's The Guardian about Google classifying information on the net based on how true they are. A truth rating. Google neither confirms nor denies the news but it just shows you huh? I was thinking, are they saying you can do a Google search and narrow your searches to articles rated at the higher end of the Truth scale. Really? But who is the ultimate arbiter of truth? (That's another post)

The guitar said "Play me!"

The conversation went:
Guitar:"Come on, just play me."
Me:"I don't know. You might not like it."
Guitar:Just DO it!

So I did but I don't think it was happy. :P I can't play to save my life. Grrr. I did cook the best pork adobo ever though. I think it was the special vinegar that did it. Or the fact that the chopped pieces of garlic were slightly burnt. Or the fact that instead of a big pot of it, I only made enough for two so the flavour was much concentrated.

Well, it was rainy and cold outside so stayed indoors for most of the weekend (grrr, had to resked catching up with criosdan. The stories that caught my attention were:

1) Disgraced businessmen Rodney Adler attempted to do business while he's in jail!

2) From next week, Australian Prime Minister John Howard will enjoy majorities in both chambers of Parliament (this is huge!)

3) Tax deductions to note for end-of-financial-year

4) Dr Zahi Hawass, secretary-general of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) aka the gatekeeper of the pyramids, the Valley of the Kings, the Sphinx, etc. Now he's an interesting character.

Oh, I watched about bajillion DVDs. From the cartoon "Ice Age" to "The Replacements" to "Eternal Sunshine..." to "Shakespeare in Love" to "Miss Congeniality" :P and Breakfast at Tiffany's. Sure sign of the times that Mickey Rooney playing the part of the Japanese neighbour is just completely unacceptable these days. Can't deny that his comic timing's faultless...but still. Am I the only person in the world that fell asleep minutes into this film? And the only one that finally, finally realised why it's called 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'? LOL!

Hope you all had a good weekend. :)
