Muswellbrook and Raule

My grandma and I took the four-hour train ride to Muswellbrook this weekend to visit my mom. Muswellbrook is a country town located at the heart of Hunter Valley, the wine region of New South Wales (much like Napa Valley in the US). I hope too Raule will be okay. At least he's in a first world country where society is kinder. To be autistic in the Philippines is to be labelled downright abno. You know how it is here. They are not even called "special."

I remember when I was still practicing, treating children with cerebral palsy was an exercise in futility. Wala naman talagang nangyayari because their potential for rehabilitation depends on the kinf of pathology they have. I don't want to elaborate except this: CP patients who get "better" are those whose CP is not that bad. Similarly, autistic patients who get "better" are those whose autism is not that bad. Let's hope Raule's is not that incurable. Maraming types/levels.

Brain damage is a sad thing because the neurons never regenerate. The day scientists find a way for neuronal regeneration is the time when "rehabilitation" shall have earned a more respectable position in medical science. Sa ngayon, it's still nada or nil.

wow what a talent! I've known several autistic kids but not to that level. sometimes you cant help but envy them, they have a world of their own, a world just theirs.

congrats sa job again and tell me all about it!
