I smoked for nearly 10 years and managed to quit a few years ago. What I did was I'd gradually smoke less and less to the point where I'd take a drag off the cigarette, put it back into the pack, and then not take another drag for a couple days. It got to the point where I was barely smoking and it was easy to quit.
It gets easier as time goes by, so just try not to smoke and let it all get out of your system.

yes thankfully for that.. [i'll detoxify that out of my system with some golden seal roots tea:)
