So I've been in Christopher Creek, AZ with my grandparents since Wednesday. My cousin Issac and his wife Destiny were here until Thursday morning but left too soon. i can completely relate to this, michelle. my dad's father is my least favorite person in our whole family. he left my gram for another woman when my dad was in high school; completely ripped the family to shreds and to this DAY he still doesn't understand why he doesn't have a good relationship with his kids and grandkids. he has never been able to just suck up and say "i messed up" and put forth the effort.

some people are just clueless and irresponsible. it sucks, but it makes you so grateful for everyone else.

we need to spend time together when you get back!

Ugh! I totally love you. This is exactly how I feel. Jeremy thinks I need to just let it go- and I kind of understand where he is coming from but I totally take it to this personal place. Like, the injustice cannot rest or something.

I suppose for the rest of the trip I'm going to just need to soak in the beauty of these mountains- and try to look past all of the insanity.

We'll get together very, very soon. Are we still on for the 6th? Let me know.

I don't know. For me, there was just a day where I was able to accept that my grandfather was a selfish, socially retarded asshole and my life is still good anyway, so why waste any energy on it? Your mom has made a life for herself despite her upbringing; so has my dad...y'know? It's okay. Like you said, you can't win 'em all.

We're on for the 6th. We're thinking laid-back, just come over and I'll make pizzas and we can drink wine and play the new Mario Bros.
