I've made this journal friends only simply because it seemed like a smart thing to do given the hassles other friends have encountered from having public posts.

And to think I changed all of mine over by hand about a year ago. This would've helped so much!

With the advent of things like the google blog search toola year ago, I also agree keeping things friends only is a good idea. However, I still find myself posting publically every now and then, with about a one-month time frame when about half of those go back to being friends-only. The cool geek posts get to stay public though, since there usually isn't much harm in those...

I'll still probably make some public postings too. stuff i won't mind if someone (ie my mother or boss) stumbles upon accidently....and of course all those delightful memes! ;)
